Cilantro Lime Shrimp Burgers | Whole30, Keto, Paleo

These cilantro lime shrimp burgers are light, fresh, and packed with healthy protein. They are great for low-carb or keto ways of eating.

I recently purchased a 2-pound bag of uncooked shrimp and threw it in the freezer. Normally when I buy shrimp, it’s cleaned and de-veined, so I really didn’t want to deal with it for a while.

I also had no idea what I wanted to make, and the fact I had to do all that work with the shrimp made me realize whatever I made had to be worth it.

These cilantro lime shrimp burgers were totally worth it. They have a simple, fresh flavor and are bound with my favorite low-carb “bread crumbs.”

While regular breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs will work in this recipe, I used a low-carb or keto form of binder.

Simply take a bag of plain pork rinds, add it to a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin until a breadcrumb-like powder is formed. Use in place of regular breadcrumbs.

💗 How to Make Shrimp Burgers

Cilantro lime shrimp burgers are easy to make because all ingredients can be pulsed together in a food processor, formed into patties, and then pan-fried.

1️⃣ Blend ingredients.
Add all ingredients, including whole raw shrimp, into a food processor. Pulse until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

2️⃣ Shape mixture into burgers.
With wet hands, form shrimp burgers until they are 1/2 inch thick patties.

3️⃣ Cook shrimp burgers.
Add oil to skillet and cook each burger over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side (or until cooked through).

4️⃣ Serve.
Serve with a lime wedge.

NOTE: This recipe will not work with pre-cooked. Raw shrimp must be used.
