Radishes are root vegetables that come in many different colors, including red, white, and black. They have a crisp texture and a slightly spicy flavor.

Radishes are a good source of fiber and vitamin C and are naturally low in carbohydrates making them great for a keto or low carb lifestyle.

While there are many ways you can prepare radishes, the best way to roast radishes is by using your air fryer. Air-fried radishes come out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They are also very easy to make!

🍅What You’ll Need

  • Radishes – These vegetables are in season from late spring through early summer, but should be readily available at your local grocery store or farmer’s market year-round.
  • Cooking Oil – This will be used to coat the radishes before cooking them in the air fryer.
  • Seasonings – I like to use a combination of garlic powder, salt, and pepper to season them simply, but you can use any seasoning you enjoy.
  • Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi – Any air fryer or Ninja Foodi with an air fryer function will work for this recipe.

🔥How to Make Radishes In Air Fryer

1️⃣Prepare the radishes: Start by trimming the ends off of the radishes and cutting them into bite-sized pieces. If your radishes are very large, you may want to cut them into quarters.

2️⃣Season: Next, place the radishes in a bowl and drizzle them with cooking oil. Toss to coat the radishes evenly. Then, add your desired dried seasonings and toss again to coat.

3️⃣Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer or Ninja Foodi to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-5 minutes.

4️⃣Roast the radishes: Add the cut and seasoned radishes to the bottom of the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking, until the radishes are tender and slightly browned.

5️⃣Remove and serve: Using tongs, remove from the air fryer and serve immediately. Enjoy!

👩🏻‍🍳Roasted Radish Cooking Tips

  • Save the greens! The greens on the tops of radishes are abundant in vitamins and minerals and can be used in a variety of dishes. You can saute radish greens, or even make radish green pesto or chimichurri.
  • Thoroughly wash the radishes. Since they are root vegetables, they can hold a lot of dirt and grit. Be sure to give them a good wash under running water before cutting and cooking.
  • Don’t forget to season them. Radishes have a slightly spicy flavor that is enhanced by savory seasonings.
  • Cook in a single layer. For best results, cook the radishes in a single layer so that they are all exposed to the heat of the air fryer. This will help them to cook evenly.
  • Adjust time and temperature. The best time and temperature for air fryer radishes depends on your individual air fryer and how large your radishes are. The best place to start is at 400F for 12-15 minutes. Check at the 10-minute mark to determine the final cooking time.

🧊Storage

Storing: Leftover roasted radishes can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days. Freezing cooked radishes is not recommended.

Reheating: To reheat, place the radishes back in the air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about five minutes, or until heated through.
