These Carolina BBQ Chicken Skewers are perfectly tangy and smoky and a great addition for Summer BBQ’s.
I’ll admit, I know nothing about the Carolina’s only that I was transplanted to Charleston from Hawaii a year and a half ago. The south is a DIFFERENT world. I’m still trying to fall in love with it, but its hard with the opressive heat and slower pace. One of the saving graces of South Carolina is the FOOD.
Although this state tends to be full of deep fried goodness, I am still able to find a balance of healthy eating with my Whole30, paleo, low carb, real-food based life.
Carolina BBQ Sauce
What it is: Pretty similar to the North Carolina style in terms of the meat used, except, in mid-state, the sauce is usually mustard-based, and includes brown sugar and vinegar.
The Carolina’s have the best BBQ I’ve ever tasted and we can’t get enough. We love traveling to new BBQ spots and rating them but even more we love making it at home with the help of The New Primal.
