📝 What You’ll Need To Make Butterfinger Bites
- Creamy Peanut Butter: The nutty flavor and creamy texture binds the candy corn together to make a perfect butterfinger-like dessert.
- Candy Corn: Take good old candy corn and melt it in the microwave to get the perfect texture.
- Chocolate Chips: These could be white chocolate, milk chocolate or even dark chocolate. Use this to to drizzle on top of the bites or dunk them entirely in chocolate for a more decadent treat.
📖 How To Make Halloween Butterfinger Bites
1️⃣ Melt candy corn in microwave: In a glass bowl, add 1 1/2 cups candy corn. Microwave the candy corn in 30 second intervals until it’s completely melted. This should take about 2-3 intervals.
2️⃣ Add peanut butter: While the candy corn is melting, measure ⅔ cup creamy peanut butter out. As soon as the candy corn is melted, QUICKLY stir in the creamy peanut butter until the mixture is evenly combined.
3️⃣ Shape butterfinger bites: Using about 1 to 2 tablespoons for each, roll mixture into bite sized sphere shapes and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
4️⃣ Chill butterfinger bites: Transfer baking sheet to the freezer for 30 minutes or until the chocolate spheres are firm.
5️⃣ Melt chocolate to drizzle: Once the butterfinger bites are firm, melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips in a glass microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring until fully melted.
6️⃣ Decorate and serve:
With a fork or spoon, drizzle melted chocolate in a decorative pattern on the top surface of each butterfinger bite. Enjoy!
Storage: Homemade butterfinger bites will last up to 1 week when stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
🧑🍳 Chef’s Tips
If you’d like to dip the entire butterfinger bite in chocolate, you’ll need about 2 cups of chocolate chips to coat each bite completel.
You could use a double boiler to melt the candy corn, but it will take a long time and will stick to the bowl even more.
The chocolate can also be melted in a double boiler.
To remove any sticky candy corn from the bowl, soak it in hot soapy water for 1 hour then scrub with a sponge.
