Let the ground elk meat rest for 10-12 minutes outside of the refrigerator to take the chill off.
Add the ground elk to a medium-sized mixing bowl and the dried seasonings.
Work the seasonings into the mixture just until combined without overworking.
Split each pound into four evenly sized pieces and shape into circles that are 1/2 inch thick.
Use your thumb or a spoon to create a well in the middle for even cooking.
Turn on your air fryer and preheat it at 375F for 3-5 minutes.
Add the elk burger patties in a single layer without overlapping at the bottom of the air fryer basket.
Cook for 15 minutes flipping halfway with a heat-safe spatula.
Once cooked, remove with a spatula and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
How to toast a hamburger bun in the air fryer:
Place the hamburger buns cut side up in the air fryer and toast the buns at 375F for 2-5 minutes or until golden brown. Top your burgers with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, bacon, ketchup, mustard or bbq sauce.
