Equipment

  • Instant Pot pressure cooker
  • trivet
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 4 lobster tails cleaned and butterflied
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted for serving

Instructions

  • Using sharp scissors, clean and butterfly the lobster. First, make an incision from the top of the lobster tail down to the bottom of the tip. Then, invert the shell under the meat, exposing the meat on the outside.
  • Sprinkle the lobster meat with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Place the trivet at the bottom of the Instant Pot and pour in one cup of water. Place the seasoned lobster tails on top of the trivet.
  • Secure the lid and turn the pressure knob to SEALING. Cook on manual HIGH pressure for 0 minutes (it will take about 15 minutes to reach pressure).
  • When the Instant Pot is finished cooking, manually quick release the pressure. Remove the lid, and let the lobster tails steam in the uncovered Instant Pot for 5 minutes.
  • Immediately remove the lobster tails with tongs. Serve with a side of melted butter and your favorite side dishes.
