Tequila Pasta Sauce (Instead of Vodka)

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ½ cup tequila
  • 28- ounce diced tomatoes canned
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat olive oil.
  • Add onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in tomato paste and tequila.
  • Add diced tomatoes, red pepper flakes, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Serve over cooked pasta. Enjoy!
