Heat Safe Tongs
- 1.5 pounds bone in pork chops 1.5-2 inches thick
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil cooking spray or olive oil for brushing
Preheat the air fryer or Ninja Foodi to 375°F. If using a Ninja Foodi, you may need to select the “Air Fry” function for five minutes.
Next, combine the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl and mix until combined.
Place the thick pork chops on a cutting board. Brush with a thin layer of oil and season both sides with the spice mixture. Rub the spices into the meat, making sure they are evenly distributed.
Place the pork chops in the air fryer or Ninja Foodi, making sure they are not touching. Spray with cooking spray and close the lid.
Air fry for 12-16 minutes, flipping once at the halfway point. If you’re unsure if your thick pork chops are cooked, use a thermometer and check the thickest portion of the meat. The pork chops should reach an internal temperature of 145°F before serving.
When done, remove from the air fryer using heat-safe tongs. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before enjoying.
