👩🏻‍🍳Air Fryer Cooking Tips

  • Use a pizza cutter or very sharp knife to cut the triangles into 3 pieces.
  • While rolling crescent rolls do not need to be a perfect shape as the dough will expand around the hot dog.
  • While wrapping around the cocktail sausages, make sure the seam side is down to ensure they stay around the hot dog. To make larger ones cut a full hot dog in half and wrap it with half a triangle.
  • Before cooking, preheat your air fryer. Doing this may ensure that the food cooks evenly on the outside without overcooking the inside.
  • To avoid food sticking to the air fryer basket, grease it with cooking spray.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer. Overcrowding the air fryer makes it difficult for air to flow and adequately cook the food. Ensure that you cook in batches as required.
  • It may take a few minutes longer or less time depending on the size of the hot dogs and air fryer. Check periodically to see how brown they are getting.
  • To save time, prepare 12 crescent dogs and place them in the air fryer. Prepare the remaining 12 while they are cooking.
  • Cook in multiple batches if your air fryer is smaller.

🥣Variations & Serving Suggestions

  • You can use regular hot dogs cut into 3 pieces instead of mini cocktail sausages. If using, you would need 8 hot dogs. You can also use different types of hot dogs, vegan, turkey dogs, grass-fed, etc.
  • If you can’t find crescent rolls, you can use puff pastry sheets instead. Puff pastry is often bought frozen, so be sure to allow time for thawing. (Or, if you’re feeling fancy, make your own pastry dough.)
  • Oven instructions: Assemble the pigs in a blanket and bake for 375F for 15 minutes on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Serving: These are best served warm or at room temperature. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces. Nothing beats nice mustard sauce as a dip. Add dip choices include aioli, barbeque sauce, ranch dressing, honey mustard sauce, ketchup, cheese sauce, and other sauces.
