Can I cook frozen chicken cordon bleu in an air fryer? Yes, the air fryer is the best way to cook frozen chicken cordon bleu in much less time than in the oven!

Chicken cordon bleu is a dish made of chicken breast that has been rolled with ham and cheese, then breaded and fried. It’s popular in France and many other countries around the world!

While making your own from scratch is always a good idea, frozen chicken cordon bleu can be just as good! Instead of making this high-protein entree in your oven, you can use the air fryer to make the process quick and efficient!

🍗What You’ll Need

  • Frozen Chicken Cordon Bleu – You can find these in the frozen entree section at most grocery stores or bulk stores like Costco or Sam’s Club. Popular brands include Banquet, Tyson, Barber Foods, Real Good Foods, and Perdue.
  • Air Fryer – Any air fryer will work for this recipe! I have the Ninja Foodi but you can use any air fryer you have on hand.
  • Tongs – The chicken will be hot once it’s cooked in the air fryer. Use tongs to remove before serving.

📖How To Make Frozen Chicken Cordon Bleu In Air Fryer

1️⃣Preheat the air fryer: Turn your air fryer to 375F and let it preheat for 3-5 minutes.

2️⃣Add the frozen chicken: Using tongs, place the frozen chicken cordon bleu pieces at the bottom of the air fryer basket in a single layer. Set the timer for 20 minutes.

3️⃣Air fry the frozen chicken: At the 15-minute mark, check the chicken to see if it’s done, as the cooking time depends on the size. Cook until the internal temperature of the meat is 165F.

4️⃣Remove and serve: Use tongs to remove the chicken. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!

👩🏻‍🍳Air Fryer Cooking Tips

Preheating the air fryer when cooking frozen foods is important as it allows the defrosting to start immediately as it cooks.

The cooking time depends on the size of your chicken as they can vary from brand to brand. Start at a time and temperature of 375F for 15-20 minutes and adjust as needed.

Some chicken cordon bleu that comes frozen has raw chicken inside. Use a kitchen thermometer to ensure the chicken is at a safe internal temperature of 165F.

Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. This will cause the air not to circulate properly and the food will not cook evenly.

🧊Storage

Air fried chicken cordon bleu will last for up to four days in the fridge. Place any leftovers in an airtight container and store it immediately after it’s cooled down from cooking.

How to reheat chicken cordon bleu in the air fryer is just as easy as making it! Simply place the desired amount in the preheated air fryer basket and reheat in the air fryer at 375F for about three to five minutes or until warmed through.

Re-freezing once cooked is not recommended as the texture will change.
