The instant pot is an electric pressure cooker that quickly infuses the coffee with water under pressure making the process quick and easy. You can make a large batch throughout the week and enjoyed hot or iced.

The instant pot makes a coffee concentrate that is not only delicious but it’s made with just two ingredients, coffee, and water. This coffee concentrate can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks, making it a great way to save time and have coffee on hand when you need it.

What You’ll Need

  • Ground Coffee – You can use any coffee you enjoy for this recipe, even decaf!
  • Filtered Water – Coffee gets pressure cooked with water so you want to make sure the water is good quality and free of any flavor.
  • Instant Pot – You’ll need a 6-qt pressure cooker in order to fit all of the ingredients to make nearly one gallon of coffee.

🍲How To Make Coffee In The Instant Pot

1️⃣Grind the coffee: For best results, grind your coffee right before adding it to the instant pot. If you have pre-ground coffee, that’s ok too!

2️⃣Add to the pot: Add the ground coffee and water to the bottom of the instant pot and give it a quick stir.

3️⃣Pressure cook the coffee: Place the lid on top and move the knob to sealing. Cook it on manual HIGH pressure for 5 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally before removing the lid.

4️⃣Strain and store: Let the coffee cool for 10 minutes before straining it through a mesh strainer into a pitcher. Once cool enough, store in the fridge with a lid.

5️⃣Make coffee drinks: Taste the coffee and add as little or as much water to get your desired ratio. Use in iced coffee drinks or warm it up to serve hot.

🥛Coffee Flavor Variations

  • To make cold brew coffee: Use a 1:4 ratio with coffee and water. This coffee will be VERY strong, so use enough water to balance the taste.
  • Add flavor extracts: After adding the water, add a few drops of your favorite coffee extract. Try peppermint, hazelnut, or vanilla!
  • Spices: Add a pinch of cinnamon, cloves, or nutmeg to the coffee grounds before pressure cooking.
  • Sweeten the coffee: Add sweetness to the coffee after it’s been cooked by adding simple syrup, honey, or agave nectar.
  • Creamer: Add your favorite creamer after the coffee has been brewed. For a dairy-free option, try using coconut milk!
  • Make Vietnamese coffee: After brewing the coffee, add sweetened condensed milk to taste.

This depends on personal preference. This is a coffee concentrate but can also be consumed without diluting.
