air fryer garlic bread

As an Italian girl, I love a good piece of garlic bread, garlic knots, or Texas toast, but I don’t always like waiting for the oven to heat up to make it. That’s not always ideal on a hot day.

By adding frozen garlic bread to your air fryer, you can have a perfectly crunchy piece of garlic bread on the table in minutes!

Shouldn’t I just use the directions on the packaging?

Since the air fryer is a small convection oven, it uses dry heat to circulate air around the food making it cook fast. This means that the time and temperature may need to be adjusted and will be different from what’s on the package instructions.

🤔Why make frozen garlic bread in the air fryer?

No need to turn the hot oven. Don’t heat up the house or waste electricity for garlic bread! Pop these in the air fryer, keep cool and save money.

Better texture. The texture of air fried food delivers a nice and crispy outside without the use of any oil making it a much healthier cooking method.

Cooks faster. Since the dry hot air is circulating quickly around the food, it will cook much faster than on the stovetop or in the oven.

No babysitting. Using this method will free your hands to help cook other dinner items or will give you time to get your family out the door.

No thawing needed. You don’t need to remember to pull anything out of the freezer to defrost when using an air fryer recipe cooked from frozen.

🥖Ingredients You’ll Need

Frozen Garlic Bread – By far, the most famous brand of frozen garlic bread is the almighty Texas Toast and for good reason! These perfectly buttery pieces of toast pair well with any meal. You can buy a box of those or feel free to purchase New York, Pepperidge Farms, or any frozen garlic bread brand at your local grocery store.

Air Fryer – There are so many air fryers to choose from these days. I enjoy using my Ninja Foodi because I think it’s the absolute best. I enjoy using my all-in-one air fryer and pressure cooker because it saves time and there saves valuable counter space.

📖How To Air Fry Frozen Garlic Bread

Preheat the air fryer. There are some recipes that do well with preheating and some that don’t need it at all. For this recipe, preheat the air fryer to 350 Farenheight.

Air Fry The Garlic Toast. Add to the bottom of the air fryer basket and set the timer for 10 minutes. You may not need to use al of that time. Air fry garlic bread for 5 minutes, then flip halfway in between its cooking time. Depending on how crispy it is, keep in for another 3-5 minutes. Use tongs to remove and serve hot.

📝NOTE: If the garlic bread has cheese on top, DO NOT FLIP. Let the garlic bread cook cheese side up the entire time.

The amount of time it takes to air fry garlic bread depends on how thick the bread is. These are general recommendations.  The typical piece of garlic toast needs about 5-8 minutes to cook at a temperature 350F depending on its thickness. Storing & Reheating

Storing: Cooked garlic bread will stay fresh in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Reheating: You can reheat garlic bread in the air fryer by preheating to 325F and cooking for 4-5 minutes until warmed through and crispy.

FAQ

Should I add oil to the bottom of the air fryer basket?

Nope! The beauty of air frying is that the natural fats in the sausage will crisp up on it’s own due to dry circulating heat without the use of any excess oil.

What temperature do you air fry frozen garlic bread?

When I use this method, I always start at 350F. If the garlic bread is not crispy enough, I will cook for a few more minutes.

Can I add aluminum foil to my air fryer?

This depends on the type of air fryer you have and where you’re putting the foil. I like to put the foil UNDER the basket to catch any excess oil or grease that comes off the sausage. This eliminates the need to clean the entire air fryer and you’ll just use the basket. If the foil is in a position where it can become loose, it may get sucked into the heating element when the air circulates so be sure it’s weighed down properly.
