Add water and tea: Start by adding water to the Instant Pot. Then add the desired number of tea bags, ensuring they are submerged in the water. Seal the lid and set the valve to sealing.
Pressure cook the tea: Cook on high pressure for 3 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally for 15 minutes before releasing the rest of the pressure.
Add sweetener: Stir in your desired amount of sugar, simple syrup, honey, or whatever sweetener you enjoy.
Cool and chill: Let the iced tea cool before adding it to a pitcher and storing it in the fridge. Add more water and sweetener as needed. Serve over ice and enjoy!

Pressure Cooking Tips
- The strength of the liquid depends on your individual tea bags and how much water you put in. You can always add water to dilute the flavor if needed.
- Add the sweetener AFTER the tea is cooked while the mixture is still warm. Adding it before can make the tea bitter.
- A pinch of baking soda can be helpful to remove any bitterness from the tea.
- Do not release the pressure right away as this will make the water boil longer, which could make the tea bitter.
- Add some flavor to the tea by cooking it with fresh herbs, citrus slices, or iced tea spices. Use peach, or raspberry, or keep it unsweetened and unflavored.
- Use it to make Thai iced tea by adding condensed milk and iced tea spices.
- This recipe makes half a gallon of iced tea or can be used to make one gallon of iced tea when adding water to the concentrate.
- The iced tea will keep in the fridge in a pitcher with a lid for up to one week.
