During the summer months, we constantly use the grill. Sometimes there are too many leftovers so I’ve had to come up with ways to use leftover hamburgers, hot dogs, hot dog buns, and even hot dog water! Bratwurst is one of those meats I regularly cook in the summer and I’ve perfected the way to reheat them using three different methods.

Bratwurst is a type of sausage that originated in Germany and is typically made from pork or beef. It’s a popular dish that’s enjoyed worldwide and can be grilled , air fryer bratwurst or put into in stews or soups. The sausage is usually seasoned with a blend of spices, such as nutmeg, coriander, and ginger, which give it a distinct flavor that sets it apart from other sausages.

🔥Storing Cooked Bratwurst

To store leftover bratwurst for the best quality, first allow it to cool to room temperature. Then, wrap the bratwurst tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap, or place it in an airtight container. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or freeze it for up to three months.

You can thaw frozen bratwurst by placing it in the refrigerator overnight or by using the defrost setting on your microwave. Once the bratwurst is thawed, you can follow one of the reheating methods above.
