Why You’ll Love Making This Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad

Great use for leftover chicken you don’t know what to do with.

You can use canned chicken for this recipe which is a great pantry staple.

You can make your own mayo which makes this chicken salad healthy because it’s not made with cooking oils that are bad for you.

You can customize the flavors or veggies that you add to it.

It has bacon . . . enough said.

🐔 Ingredients You’ll Need

  •  Cooked Shredded Chicken – You can purchase canned chicken or a batch of all purpose shredded chicken.
  • Mayonnaise – Homemade is best (recipe below) but you can also use your favorite store-bought mayo.
  • White Onion – This classic chicken salad ingredient infuses the salad with onion flavor. Use red onion or shallots for a more mild onion flavor.
  • Bell Pepper – Diced bell pepper is a perfect addition to the salad, but you can also use chopped celery.
  • Ranch Seasoning – Make your own ranch seasoning or use a packet of your favorite.
  • Cooked Bacon – Chopped bacon adds a salty bite and a great layer of flavor. Cook bacon in your air fryer to speed things up.
  • Salt & Pepper – Balances and enhances all the flavors in the chicken.

Homemade One Minute Mayo:

Making homemade mayonnaise used to be something that seemed so daunting to me, especially since we learned how to make it in culinary school with a whisk and bowl and it took SO LONG.

Since then I’ve learned to make my own mayo in just one minute using an immersion blender and have never looked back.

I can now make endless sauces and dressings that are much healthier because I am in control of the ingredients.

Homemade Or Ranch Seasoning Packet?

There are 2 ways you could add ranch flavor to this keto chicken salad. You could use an entire ranch packet, or you could use a few tablespoons of homemade ranch seasoning. I like to make a big batch and keep it on hand for dressings and to flavor dishes like these.

I just make this and tweaked it with different seasonings and cucumber. I layed it on a lettuce wrap. Oh so good.
