Did any of you ever have a Big Mac? Yes, I am talking about the one from McDonald’s that has its on song and stigma attached to it. I’m not ashamed to admit that I have because that was what we grew up on before we knew any better!

Just sayin’!

As time went on and I educated myself about health and nutrition, McDonald’s was a distant memory to my body. However, I do remember really enjoying the Bic Mac Sauce. It was kind of sweet but tangy and had a good hit of garlic and onion.

It really just made the dish. When I realized that this was actually Thousand Island Dressing I was super excited because it meant I could just start buying that.

Except when I did, it just wasn’t the same and was filled with a lot of sugar which made it taste syrupy and weird.  Those are two words you definitely don’t want describing your food.

It’s a good thing I am no stranger to making my own dressings and condiments because a homemade Thousand Island Dressing has been a game changer in this house.

What is Thousand Island Dressing?

Thousand Island dressing is an American salad dressing and condiment that is mayonnaise based.  A variation of thousand island dressing is usually known as a secret or special sauce to top burgers with at popular fast food restaurants.
