Can you put frozen bacon in the air fryer? Yes, believe it or not, a pack of frozen bacon can easily be cooked using your air fryer with these simple steps!

We’ve all been there, it’s breakfast time, and you’ve forgotten to thaw your bacon. Even though bacon thaws fairly quickly when placed in a bowl of cold water, you can cook it right from frozen!

Why The Air Fryer Is The Best Way To Cook Frozen Bacon

  • The dry circulating heat of the air fryer defrosts and cooks the frozen bacon at the same time.
  • No need to cook on the stove, which will save you time and clean up!
  • You can have bacon on the table in just 20 minutes, making your breakfast routine a bit easier.
  • Great for when you need a quick breakfast or are making BLTs or using bacon for dinner.

🧊How To Cook Frozen Bacon In Air Fryer

1️⃣Preheat your air fryer: Turn on your air fryer and preheat at 375F for 3-5 minutes.

2️⃣Defrost in air fryer: Remove the frozen bacon from the package its in and place the frozen block at the bottom of the air fryer basket. Flip it over at the 5 minute mark, then defrost for an additional 2-3 minutes depending on how frozen it is.

3️⃣Air fry bacon: Once the block begins to separate, use tongs to pull each piece off of the block until its fully separated. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the bacon is cooked as desired.

👩🏻‍🍳Air Fryer Bacon Tips

Cooking a whole pound of frozen bacon in the air fryer will leave lots of oil on the bottom. If possible, you can place a layer of foil under your air fryer basket depending on the model to catch the oil to make for an easier clean up.

The time it takes to defrost the bacon will depend on your individual air fryer and how thick your bacon is. The best time and temperature to start with is 375F for 5-8 minutes for defrosting. If your bacon is cooking too quickly, turn the heat to 350F.

Do not overcrowd the pan. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to remove the defrosted bacon and cook it in batches to ensure each piece gets crispy.

You can also use the air fryer to defrost the bacon, then finish cooking it in a skillet or in the oven on a sheet pan.
