air fryer corn on the cob

Quick side dishes are KEY when it comes to getting healthy food on the table fast. With the help of an air fryer, you can cook food straight from frozen with no need to defrost.

We love eating corn on the cob, and sometimes we buy it frozen when its not in season. In those times, I add them to my air fryer basket and cook until tender in just 10 minutes or less!

🤔Why make frozen corn on the cob in the air fryer?

No need to turn on your grill or boil water. While you can cook frozen corn on the cob this way, it is much easier to just pop it in the air fryer and let it go!

They get a much better texture. Frozen corn gets tender on the inside with a slightly crispy outside which is perfect for soaking up flavors.

The corn cooks faster. Since the dry hot air is circulating quickly around the coconut shrimp, it will cook much faster than any other way.

No thawing needed. You don’t need to remember to pull frozen shrimp out of the freezer to defrost.

🌽Ingredients You’ll Need

Frozen Corn On The Cob – Frozen corn is a budget friendly vegetable and can be found in most grocery stores in the frozen veggie section. We like buying Bird’s Eye or Green Giant, but also live store brands like Good & Gather, and Great Value. Any frozen corn will work.

Air Fryer – There are so many air fryers to choose from these days. I enjoy using my Ninja Foodi because I think it’s the absolute best. I enjoy using my all-in-one air fryer and pressure cooker because it saves time and there saves valuable counter space.

📖How To Air Fry Frozen Corn On The Cob

Preheat the air fryer. There are some recipes that don’t require a preheated air fryer, but this is not one of them. Generally, you want frozen foods to have a head start because they are thawing and cooking. You’ll want to preheat your air fryer to 400F for 3-5 minutes.

Air Fry The Frozen Corn. Place frozen corn in your air fryer basket and set the timer for 12 minutes even though you may not use all that time. At the 5-7 minute mark, flip the corn with tongs and cook for another 5-8 minutes until it’s cooked through.

Season & Serve: Remove hot corn with tongs, then spread with butter and your favorite seasonings before serving.

Best Time & Temperature for Frozen Corn

The amount of time it takes to air fry frozen corn depends on how big they are and the individual temperature of your air fryer. These are general recommendations.

  • Full Size Frozen Corn On The Cob – 12-15 minutes at 400F
  • Mini Frozen Corn On The Cob – 10-12 minutes at 400F
  • Raw Corn On The Cob (not frozen) – 12-18 minutes at 375F

📝Note: Raw corn is best at a slightly lower temperature since it has no water to defrost and keep it tender.

Storing & Reheating

Storing: Air fried corn on the cob will last in the fridge in an airtight container for 3-4 days.

Reheating: You can reheat leftover corn in the air fryer by preheating to 325F and cooking for 4-5 minutes until warmed through and crispy.

FAQ

Should I add oil to the bottom of the air fryer basket?

Nope! The beauty of air frying is that the natural fats in the sausage will crisp up on it’s own due to dry circulating heat without the use of any excess oil.

Can I add aluminum foil to my air fryer?

This depends on the type of air fryer you have and where you’re putting the foil. I like to put the foil UNDER the basket to catch any excess oil or grease that comes off the shrimp. This eliminates the need to clean the entire air fryer and you’ll just use the basket. If the foil is in a position where it can become loose, it may get sucked into the heating element when the air circulates so be sure it’s weighed down properly.
