If you’ve cooked a big batch of burger patties for a summer cookout or BBQ, you may be wondering what to do with your leftover burgers. Instead of tossing them or eating them cold, try reheating your hamburger in the air fryer!

🤔Why Is The Air Fryer The Best Way To Reheat Hamburgers?

  • It’s quick. From start to finish, you’ll have a perfectly reheated leftover burger patty to enjoy in 5 minutes!
  • Beat the heat. No need to fire up the grill, oven, or even the stovetop. The air fryer is a small convection oven that uses much less electricity and doesn’t heat up the house.
  • Good as new texture. The air fryer uses hot and dry circulating heat that swirls around the food making it crispy and charred on the outside while staying tender on the inside.
  • No waste! In fact, you may even pre-cook burgers on purpose for meal prep since they’re so easy to reheat and enjoy! This also works for cheeseburgers too!

🍔What You’ll Need

Air Fryer – You can use any air fryer you have to reheat a burger in air fryer, but we love using the Ninja Foodi because it’s super versatile and reliable.

Cooked Burger Patties – These refrigerated patties could be leftover from a cookout or from a restaurant or fast food joint. No matter where they’re from, you can enjoy them like new.

Spatula – The air fryer is small but mighty! You’ll need a spatula to properly add and remove the burger patties from the air fryer basket or tray.

🔥How To Reheat Burgers In Air Fryer

1️⃣Preheat the air fryer: Turn the air fryer to a temperature of 400F and let it preheat for 3-5 minutes.

2️⃣Add the cooked burgers: You can add the cooked burger patties straight from the fridge to the bottom of the air fryer basket in a single layer with no overlapping.

3️⃣Air fry burgers: Set the timer for 5 minutes. At the 3-minute mark, flip the burger over and cook for an additional 2 minutes or until heated through.

4️⃣Remove and serve: Using your spatula, remove the burger from the air fryer and serve with your favorite burger toppings.

👩🏻‍🍳Air Fried Burger Cooking Tips

  • Don’t skip the preheating. This is key for getting that crispy exterior without overcooking the inside of your burger.
  • Try not to overcrowd the air fryer. Place burger patties in a single even layer without overlapping. You may need to reheat burgers in batches depending on how many you’re reheating and the size of your air fryer.
  • Add a little fat. If you want extra juicy burgers, try reheating your burgers with a little bit of butter or oil. This will help keep the burger moist on the inside while it reheats.
  • Reheat cheeseburgers in air fryer. If you’ve got leftover cheeseburgers, don’t worry – they reheat just as well! Simply place them in the air fryer for the same amount of time without flipping and you’ll have a delicious burger in no time.
  • Adjust for thickness. If you need to reheat a thick burger patty, you may want to turn down the temperature to 375F and cook for a few minutes longer to make sure the inside is warmed through without burning or drying out the outside.
